TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The Thunder continue their stretch of three straight home games with the second in a row against the Reading Royals. Adirondack was victorious in a later than usual puck drop on Tuesday, as they downed Reading 3-2 in the shootout. Of the Thunder;s last 13 games played, tonight will be the seventh against Reading, the sixth head-to-head matchup in the month of January.
SHOOTOUT SUCCESS: Tuesday's shootout victory for the Thunder was their first on home ice this season and their second in five tries in 2016-17. James Henry scored his second shootout goal of the season, the game-winning goal, making him the team leader for the season. Greg Wolfe also scored on his first attempt of 2016-17, joining Henry and Peter MacArthur as Thunder players with shootout goals on the season.
HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLFE: Forward Greg Wolfe collected his second consecutive three-point game as he netted a goal and an assist in Tuesday's win over Reading. Wolfe's goal served as the game-tying marker late in the third period to force overtime. On the season, Wolfe has vaulted into a tie for fourth on the team in scoring with 23 points (9-14-23) in 37 games played.
THE GRAND MAC: Adirondack Thunder forward Peter MacArthur also collected multiple points in Tuesday's win as he assisted on both Thunder goals on the evening. MacArthur's two helpers marked his sixth multi-point game of the season and his 19 assists are tied with defenseman Alex Wall for the overall team lead. MacArthur ranks second in scoring on the Thunder with 31 points, one point behind teammate Ty Loney.
AGENT J.P.: Goaltender J.P. Anderson earned his first home victory of the season as a member of the Thunder, as he made 36 saves on 38 shots in Tuesday's game against Reading. Anderson's 36 saves were a Thunder season high on home ice and were one shy of his season high of 37 saves, made on January 4 in Norfolk. Between Adirondack and Wheeling this season, Anderson is now 8-3-2 with a 2.65 goals against average and a .912 save percentage.
HOME ALONEY: The Thunder got a big boost back into their lineup as forward Ty Loney was returned to the team from the AHL's Albany Devils. Loney leads all Thunder skaters with 15 goals and 32 points. The 6-4 winger appeared in four AHL contests with the Devils and collected an assist, along with a +1 rating. Loney has now appeared in 37 career AHL games between Albany and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
BADDOCK TO THE BONE: With Loney returning to Adirondack, forward Brandon Baddock earned his second recall of the season to the Devils. The 6-4 forward has collected two assists in 11 games with the Thunder this season.
