BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers peppered Springfield Thunderbirds goaltender Reto Berra with 28 shots on Sunday, but Berra stopped every one of them and led the visitors to a 2-0 win at Webster Bank Arena.
Juho Lammikko scored the eventual game-winning goal midway through the first period, while the Sound Tigers penalty kill was impressive going 5-for-5 and stopping two separate 5-on-3 attacks.

The Thunderbirds began the scoring at 10:21 of the opening frame when Anthony Greco beat Bridgeport goaltender, Stephon Williams, to the puck in the trapezoid. Williams lost his stick on the play and Lammikko capitalized on the mishandling, scoring from the low slot for his first professional tally.
Springfield had two opportunities to extend its lead in the second period with a pair of 5-on-3 opportunities, but Williams and the Sound Tigers' defense held strong and kept it a one-goal affair.
In the third, Bridgeport had its own chance with a two-man advantage, but sharp passing and good puck movement wasn't enough to beat Berra.
Springfield secured the victory at 19:58 of the third period when Logan Shaw scored an empty netter for his second goal of the season.
Bridgeport finished the game 0-for-4 on the power-play. Williams (0-3-0) made 26 saves in the loss, while Berra (3-1-0) returned to the win column after falling to the Sound Tigers on Friday.
The Sound Tigers and Thunderbirds each had 28 shots in the game.
