New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution (4-3-6, 18 pts.) are set to visit D.C. United (2-6-5, 11 pts.) for the teams' third meeting this season, and the second contest at Audi Field, on Sunday night. The match kicks off at 7:00 p.m. ET and will air on New England Cable News (NECN), with Ross Dyer and Charlie Davies calling the action. The contest will also air on 98.5 The Sports Hub HD2, with Portuguese commentary available on WBIX 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA.
The last time the Revolution visited Audi Field on Aug. 25, New England registered a 2-1 win over D.C. on the back of goals from Teal Bunbury and Gustavo Bou. The win was New England's first at Audi Field. The two original MLS clubs played to a 1-1 draw in the first matchup during the MLS is Back Tournament on July 17. With a win on Sunday, the Revs would have two victories over D.C. in the same season for the first time since 2013, and the most regular season wins away from Gillette Stadium since the 2015 campaign (3-2-2 including the MLS is Back Tournament).
New England's attack broke out for a season-high three goals in Wednesday's 3-1 win against Montreal at Gillette Stadium, as Henry Kessler, Bou, and Diego Fagundez tallied to lift the Revolution into fifth place in the Eastern Conference. If Fagundez plays on Sunday, he will move into a tie for the second-most games played in Revs history (254). Lee Nguyen, one assist shy of the 50-goal, 50-assist mark for his Revs career, created five chances from set pieces in the victory. On the other end, the defense has allowed one or fewer goals in 10 of 13 matches to date, posting four shutouts, and the Revs are one of only two MLS teams to have not yet trailed at halftime this season.
