(Hershey, PA) - Tonight, the Hershey Bears battle the Cleveland Monsters, American Hockey League affiliate for the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Bears are fresh off a commanding 6-1 win last night over the Monsters after a successful 3-for-9 night on the power play and a perfect 9-for-9 on the penalty kill.

ATLANTIC DIVISION STANDINGS
LAST TIME OUT:
The Bears and Monsters rematch today after Hershey earned it's biggest win of the season, 6-1, over Cleveland at Giant Center last night. In a game that featured plenty of special teams, Hershey was a perfect 9-for-9 on the penalty kill and got three power play goals of their own. The Bears received goals from five different players, including Mike Sgarbossa, Nathan Walker, Riley Barber, Jayson Megna, and Shane Gersich (2). Hershey was out shot 31-23 in the victory, as the Bears improved to 5-3-0-0 at Giant Center this season.
BREAKOUT PERFORMANCE:
Last night Hershey scored a season-high six goals in the victory over the Monsters. Prior to yesterday, the Bears season high for goals in a game was four, a feat accomplished twice. The contest was also the first time the Bears have scored six goals since Mar. 31, 2018 in a 6-3 win at Laval. That night current Washington Capitals forward Travis Boyd scored four goals for the Chocolate and White.
POWERING UP:
The Bears have scored eight power play goals in the past three contests. Hershey is 8-for-23 (34.8%) on the power play in that stretch. The Chocolate and White went 3-for-9 on the man-advantage last night, scoring three power play goals in a contest for the third time this season.
GOOD ON GERSICH:
Forward Shane Gersich struck twice in the third period last night, recording the first multi-goal game of his professional career. The goals were Gersich's first tallies since he scored his first AHL goal on Oct. 19, a span of nine games. The forward now has three goals on the season, with each tally coming on the power play. He is currently tied with Riley Barber for the team lead in power play goals. Gersich was selected by the Capitals in the fifth round of the 2014 NHL Draft.
ANOTHER STRIKE FROM SGARBS:
Former Monster Mike Sgarbossa opened the scoring last night, tallying his seventh goal of the season. Sgarbossa played parts of three seasons with the Monsters following the completion of his junior career. He posted a career-best 44 points (19 goals, 25 assists) in his rookie season with Lake Erie in 2012-13. In total, Sgarbossa played 146 games with the Monsters, scoring 28 goals and 49 assists for 77 points.
MIGHTY MILNER:
Netminder Parker Milner improved to 2-0-0 on the season with 30 saves in the victory last night. Milner has stopped 62 of 64 shots in his two starts this season, and currently has a 0.97 goals against average and a .969 save percentage. If he gets the call in goal tonight, it will mark only the second time in his AHL career that he has started on back-to-back nights. Milner is 6-6-1 over the past three years with the Chocolate and White.
