Tonight, at CN Centre, the Prince George Cougars return home for a pair of contests against Eastern Conference opponents beginning tonight against the Brandon Wheat Kings at 7:00 PM. The Cougars return home after a split on their first road trip of the season with a shootout victory over the Vancouver Giants (Friday Oct 7) and most recently a 6-4 setback against the Everett Silvertips (Saturday Oct 8). Chase Wheatcroft, Koehn Ziemmer, Caden Brown, and Riley Heidt had the goals in Everett, while Ty Young made 49 saves in the loss.

KOEHN ZIEMMER: Forward Koehn Ziemmer has been no short of terrific to kickstart the 2022-23 season. In the teams' first six games this season, the Mayerthorpe, AB product has already registered 12 points in six contests, which has him atop all Western Conference skaters and second in the entire WHL - behind only Connor Bedard. Ziemmer had quite the road trip in Vancouver and Everett, tallying six points combined in those contests (2-4-6).
AGAINST THE WHEAT KINGS: Tonight marks the first time the Wheat Kings have come to Prince George since October 30th, 2018. Over a six-year span, the Cougars and Wheat Kings have met four times, and have won two times a piece during that span.

JAKE CHIASSON: Edmonton Oilers 2021 draft pick Jake Chaisson is off to a hot start to the 2022-23 season. Chiasson, from Abbotsford, BC, has tallied seven points in four games (4G-3A), which included a goal in their victory over Calgary two days ago. Throughout his WHL career, Chiasson has suited up in 108 games, while collecting 60 points (24G-36A).
IN THE PIPES: 17-year-old and 2023 NHL Draft eligible netminder Carson Bjarnason has been stellar to start the 2022-23 season. The Carberry, MB product sports a 2-1-1 record, along with 2.47 goals against average and a .932 save percentage in four games so far this season.
