Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats host the Prince Albert Raiders on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. inside the Brandt Centre.

The Pats are coming off a 4-3 win on Saturday over the Swift Current Broncos, as they improved to 4-4 on the season, finishing their three game week 2-1. Connor Bedard tallied three points (1G-2A), Alexander Suzdalev scored twice, Tanner Howe (1G-1A) chipped in with two points, and Drew Sim made 25 saves to improve to 3-0. The Pats outshot the Broncos 40-28, while going 2-6 on the power play and 0-1 on the penalty kill.

On the other side, the Raiders had their three game point-streak snapped with a 3-1 loss to the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday, as they now sit 2-4-2-0 on the season, but 2-1-1-0 over their last four games. Nolan Allan scored the only goal for Prince Albert, while Tikhon Chaika made 34 saves. The Raiders were outshot 37-20, going 0-5 on the power play and 5-6 on the penalty kill.

Last year, the Prince Albert Raiders a 2021-22 season where the club sneaked into the playoffs, finishing eighth in the Eastern Conference going 28-35-4-1 with 61 points before losing to Winnipeg in the first round in five games. The Raiders are 2-4-2-0 on the season with six points, having played eight games thus far, just like Regina, which is the most in the WHL coming in.

Cole Dubinsky returns off the injured list today, while the Pats place Brayden Barnett on the IR as day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

The Pats acquired 2002-born defenceman Tanner Brown from the Red Deer Rebels on Tuesday in exchange for a 2023 fifth-round pick, and a 2024 fourth-round pick. The Kelowna, B.C, product was off to a great start this season, picking up six assists in five games. The 5-foot-10, 180 lb. defenceman split last season between the Winnipeg ICE and Vancouver Giants, scoring 26 points (7G-19A) in 67 games.

2: Two Pats goaltenders have posted a .900+ save percentage to start the season, as Matthew Kieper sits with a .926 SV% over three starts (2-1-0) and Drew Sim holds a .900 SV% in three starts (3-0-0)...meanwhile, Koen MacInnes is 0-2 with a .818 save percentage in two games.

5: Goals in six games for Russian/Swedish forward Alexander Suzdalev (5G-1A-6PTS)...the Khabarovsk, RUS, product has recorded at least a point in four of his six games this season, and has goals in three of his last four contests.

15: Number of points (7G-8A) in eight games for Pats captain Connor Bedard leads the WHL, while his seven goals are tied for first, and his eight assists are the league lead...the North Vancouver, BC product is also currently on a seven game point-streak.

51: Regina Pats goaltender Matthew Kieper made 51 saves on 52 shots on Wednesday, Oct. 5, becoming the first Pats goaltender to make 50+ saves in a win since Feb. 20, 2013 when Max Hewitt stopped 53 shots in a 3-2 victory over the host Edmonton Oil Kings.

51: Shots on net this season for Connor Bedard leads the WHL, as he is averaging 6.37 per-game, while he averaged 5.25 shots on net per game last year, with 326 shots in 62 games, leading the league...he is also 58.6% on faceoffs this season, while he was 49% last season.

82.1%: Penalty kill percentage through eight games...last game, the PK went 0-1, but the club has gone 8-9 over their last three games, after giving up at least one short-handed in five previous games.
