Game Preview: Barnstormers at Blizzard

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers (5-3) travel to Green Bay on Friday, May 20 to take on the Green Bay Blizzard (3-6). Kickoff is set for 7:05PM at the Resch Center.

The Blizzard enter Friday's contest following a 48-30 loss to the Quad City Steamwheelers. The Blizzard went ahead 13-0 in the first quarter, but the Steamwheelers used a big fourth quarter to win the game handedly.

Meanwhile, the Barnstormers enter Green Bay following a 41-36 victory over the Bismarck Bucks (3-6). The Barnstormers went ahead 13-0 early in the game, but the Bucks made it interesting trailing just 20-17 at the half. After a hard fought, close game, Iowa prevailed.

It is the second of three matchups between the Barnstormers and the Blizzard this season. The first game resulted in a 36-18 victory for the Barnstormers at Wells Fargo Arena on April 2. The Barnstormers defense held the Blizzard to just 8 points in the first half. Meanwhile, kicker Gabriel Rui made three field goals to help the Barnstormers escape with a victory. It is a back-to-back series as the third and final regular season contest will take place on Friday, May 27 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
