TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (29-9-2-3) face their all-too familiar Pacific Division rival Stockton Thunder in their 11th meeting of the season. These teams will face each other three more times during the regular season after tonight. The Reign are riding the coattails of a 4-2 win in Las Vegas while the Thunder have been on a three-game losing streak as they enter Citizens Business Bank Arena tonight. Stockton's three losses have been by two goals or more including a high-scoring, 7-5 loss to Colorado on Feb. 1.
LAST MEETING:
These two teams are known to pile on the major penalty minutes when they play each other, but their last game was considerably tamer as there were no fights, just a few minor penalties for each team. The Reign ended their three-game, series cold streak with a decisive 5-2 win at Stockton Arena. In that game Sacha Guimond, Maxim Kitsyn, and Cameron Burt each racked up two points apiece in the win.
WHO'S THIS TEAM?
It is no secret the Reign have been actively changing their roster and adding more contracted players to the lineup. In the past five games, there have been six new players added to Ontario's roster; Kyle Bigos, Steven Tarasuk, Maxim Kitsyn, Riley Brace, Brett Lyon, and Sebastian Stalberg.
Since these six have joined the Reign, they have earned a combined 17 points (7g, 10a) and a +4 rating in a combined 19 games. Since their last game on Feb. 1, the Reign have added three more players with Jason Beatty (COL), Chris Crane (WOR), and Dylan Hood (COL). Of the 15 players that have been here for longer than five games, they have recorded 19 points (7g, 12a) and a -9 since Jan. 24.
