Forward Chad Painchaud Returns from American Hockey League

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today that forward Chad Painchaud has returned to the team from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Painchaud, 27, skated in seven games with the Admirals scoring one goal. With the Stingrays, the Mississauga, Ontario, native has 24 points (nine goals, 15 assists) in 19 contests and leads the Stingrays in power-play points (9) and power-play assists (6). Currently in his eighth professional season, Painchaud has 309 points (129 goals, 180 assists) in 325 ECHL contests with Gwinnett, Bakersfield, Victoria, Reading, Chicago and South Carolina and saw 48 games of AHL action with the Chicago Wolves, Iowa Chops and Manitoba Moose and Norfolk picking up 10 points (five goals, five assists). Last season he guided the Wichita Thunder of the Central Hockey League to the Ray Miron Presidents' Cup Finals with 20 goals and 36 assists for 56 points in 40 regular-season games and 13 points (four goals, nine assists) in 15 playoff matchups before falling to Allen in Game 7.

The Stingrays host the Greenville Road Warriors on Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8 at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum.
