TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (39-17-2-3) look to end the Bakersfield Condors (29-26-2-3) three-game series win streak, and five-game series point streak with a win at Citizens Business Bank Arena. In eight games-played so far this season, the Reign is 4-4-0-0 against the Condors with five more series match-ups left to play. Ontario is currently on a four-game winning streak, and a four-game home winning streak.
EYE ON THE PRIZE:
Trailing only the Alaska Aces in points, the Reign are making a hard push for the Western Conference and the Brabham Cup (awarded to the team that finishes with the most points in the regular season). They have a 10-point lead on the Idaho Steelheads, and a 13-point lead on the Utah Grizzlies. Ontario's 83 points has put them in a great position for clinching their third straight Pacific Division Championship. The team is just three wins away from clinching their third consecutive, and fourth all-time Division title in just six seasons.
#BESTFANSINTHELEAGUE:
For the past two games, the fans have filled Citizens Business Bank Arena for back-to-back sellout crowds! Last week there was a total of 27,727 fans with their eyes on the Pacific Division leading Reign.
LOSING LAURENT:
The Condors' star goaltender, Laurent Brossoit, was recently called up to the team's AHL affiliate, the Oklahoma City Barons. Brossoit has posted impressive numbers with a 2.20 goals-against average with Bakersfield (2.06 overall), .920 save percentage (.924 overall), and a league-leading seven shutouts between Bakersfield and Alaska. Brossoit boosted the Condors; without Brossoit, the team is 10-17-0-3, with Brossoit, they're 19-9-2-0. Bakersfield is also short their leading scorer, Greg Miller who was recently recalled to Oklahoma City as well.
