Missions Makin' Moves: Today is just the second day of the season but the Missions have already made five transactions. Yesterday catcher Skyler Ewing and pitchers Brad Kuntz and Tristan Archer were transferred to rookie-level Rocky Mountain. The Brewers also claimed pitcher Donnie Hart off waivers from Los Angeles (NL) and assigned him to Triple-A San Antonio. Today the Missions will receive their first Major League rehab assignment of the season as reliever Jeremy Jeffress joins the ball club to begin a rehab assignment with San Antonio as he works his way back from a shoulder injury he suffered during Spring Training.

Patience is a Virtue: Last night Corey Ray matched a career high by drawing three walks and reached base four times. Last season a Missions player drew three walks in a game eight times. River Stevens (April 21 at Midland), Forrestt Allday (May 1 at Frisco), Ty France (May 3 at Frisco), Fernando Tatis Jr. (June 9 at Corpus Christi), Rod Boykin (June 24 vs. Midland), Tyler Kohlwey (August 2 at Midland), Nick Schulz (August 5 at Midland), and Matthew Batten (August 11 vs. Tulsa) all accomplished the feat.

Hot Starts: Catcher Jacob Nottingham has had a knack for coming out hot on Opening Day and did so again last night. Milwaukee's #16 prospect according to MLB Pipeline went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in last night's victory over Oklahoma City and is now 8-for-26 with 4 doubles and 5 RBI in his first game of a season in his career. Also of note, his double last night was the 100th two-bagger of his career.

I spent 9 years calling games with the @missionsmilb. This is a cool milestone for baseball in SA. Glad the @Brewers are connected to them now.
