SATURDAY NIGHT'S ALRIGHT:Louisville and Charlotte continue their four-game series with a Saturday night ballgame at BB&T Ballpark. Right-hander Lucas Sims will make his 10th career start against Charlotte, his second with the Bats after spending parts of the previous 3 seasons in the IL South Division with Gwinnett. Louisville will look to salvage at least a series tie after dropping each of the first 2 games of the set.

AGAINST CHARLOTTE:The Bats and Knights still meet 5 more times this season, all in Charlotte's home ballpark. Tonight marks the 20th all-time matchup between the teams at BB&T Ballpark, which opened in 2014. LOU owns an 8-11 record against the Knights at BB&T, and 57-43 in exactly 100 all-time matchups at Louisville Slugger Field. Last night actually marked LOU's 100th loss to Charlotte, still above .500 with a 115-100 all-time record against them.

A12:Right fielder Aristides Aquino went 2-for-3 with his ninth home run of the season on Friday night, extending his hitting streak to a team-high 12 games. The 12-game streak broke a tie with Christian Colon for longest on the Bats this season. Colon's 11-game streak spanned from May 19-30, and Aquino's active 12-game started on May 23.

- Aquino's 12-game hit streak is the longest for a Bats player since Nick Senzel hit safely in 18 straight games, spanning between 2 seasons (2018-19).

- His active 12-game streak is the longest for LOU in a single season since IF Juan Perez hit safely in 12 straight from April 10-23, 2017. With a hit in his next game, Aquino would have the Bats' longest hitting streak in one season since Hernan Iribarren's 16-game hit streak from July 2-21, 2016.

TRANSACTIONS: Prior to Friday night's game, the Bats added OF Narciso Crook, who rejoined the roster after being transferred to the Billings roster just a day earlier, and transferred IF Alberti Chavez to Class AA Chattanooga. Crook went 1-for-4 with a double in his return to the Louisville lineup last night. Chavez, who made 2 pitching apps in his first stint at Triple-A, batted .300 (3-for-10) in 3 starts for the Bats.

FIRST IS CURSED:For the fourth game in a row, the Bats scored first, this time on a Juan Graterol RBI single that scored Rob Refsnyder in the second inning. LOU is just 1-3 in their last 4 games despite being the first team to score in each of the games, and just 16-15 when scoring first this season. In over half (19) of LOU's 37 losses this season, they led at one point in the game.

300 RUNS:With 295 runs on the season, if the Bats can score at least 5 runs tonight, they will get to the 300-run mark. Last season, Louisville scored its 300th run as a team on June 27 at Columbus in an 11-10 win at Huntington Park. The 300th run of the season came in the form of a Dilson Herrera solo home run in the sixth inning.
