Rochester Red Wings News Release

The Red Wings used six strong innings from Randy Dobnak and a pair of home runs to roll past the Pawtucket Red Sox, 6-2, Saturday night at McCoy Stadium.

Rochester (26-33) has now won six straight games and eight of the last 10. The win also means the Wings have won three straight series for the first time all season.

The offense had been the story for much of the road trip and Saturday was no different.

After scoring 26 runs in 14 innings of baseball on Friday night, the Wings bats kept rolling in the early innings Saturday.

Wilin Rosario doubled home Brent Rooker in the second inning to give Rochester a 1-0 lead. Willians Astudillo contributed an RBI single in a two-run third inning and Rosario went opposite field with a long solo home run in the fourth as the Wings built a 4-0 lead.

After the Paw Sox got on the board in the bottom of the fourth, Drew Maggi extended the lead with a two-run homer in the sixth inning - his sixth of the season and third in his last two games.

That was plenty of offense for Dobnak, who retired the first nine men he faced and cruised through six innings to earn his first win for the Red Wings. He went six innings allowing just one run on three hits and one walk.

Jake Cave went 0-for-4 with a sac fly as his 15-game hit streak came to an end.

Astudillo went 3-for-4 with a walk and an RBI in his first game with the Wings this season after being optioned down from Minnesota earlier in the day.

Over the first seven games of the trip, the Red Wings are hitting .337 with 8 home runs while averaging 8.5 runs/game.

The Wings seek a seventh straight win and a four-game series sweep on Sunday when Chase De Jong takes the ball for Rochester opposite southpaw Brian Johnson.

WINGS THINGS: Relief pitcher Ryan Eades had his contract purchased by the Twins on Saturday...Since May 22, Rochester has the best ERA in the league at 3.57.
