Moosic, PA - The Syracuse Mets took an early lead but the offense sputtered in a 3-1 loss to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Saturday night at PNC Field. Luis Guillorme led the Mets with three hits in the game.

Syracuse (30-31) started the scoring in the top of the second inning. Rubén Tejada led off with a double and moved to third base on a groundout. Tejada then scored on a Travis Taijeron double to left field to give the Mets a 1-0 edge.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (34-25) tied the game in the bottom of the third when Logan Morrison hit an 0-2 pitch over the left-center field fence to lead off the inning for a home run that knotted the game, 1-1.

The RailRiders took the lead for good in the seventh. With Ryan McBroom at first base, Morrison again got a hold of one, this time a two-run home run to right-center field to push the RailRiders in front, 3-1.

Besides the home runs, Syracuse starting pitcher Walker Lockett was stellar. The 25-year-old scattered eight hits through seven innings with just one walk allowed.

The Mets and RailRiders conclude their series on Sunday afternoon with a doubleheader. The first game will start at 12:05 p.m. with the second game scheduled to begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. RHP Chris Mazza will start game one for Syracuse opposite LHP Daniel Camarena for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
