The River Otters demonstrated tremendous heart and resolve coming back to take a 3-2 lead before the end of the period. The first two goals were scored by Scott Dobben, playing in his first game as a River Otter, while the go-ahead goal was scored on a tremendous play by Mike Richards. Neither team scored in the second period and the River Otters took a 3-2 lead into the final frame. Fort Wayne tied the game when Hunter completed his hat-trick midway through the third period, and they took the lead for good when Guy Dupuis hammered home a slap-shot from the top of the right face-off circle. Kalamazoo took a 1-0 lead 12 minutes into the opening period when Jason Deitsch crashed the net and scored on a one-time to extend his point streak to 17 games. Home Is Where The Heart Is: The home team has won all four games in the season series between the River Otters and the K-Wings. That's an obstacle that the Otters will have to overcome if they are to emerge victorious tonight.

Don't Doubt Dobben: Playing in his first game with the River Otters last night, winger Scott Dobben scored two goals to help his team build a 3-2 lead against the Komets.

Richards Roaring: River Otters rookie Mike Richards scored the second goal of his professional career last night against the Komets. It was his second goal in as many games as his first professional goal came Wednesday night against the Generals.
