IHL 2 Kalamazoo Wings

Countdown to Face-Off

March 18, 2006 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release

The Kalamazoo Wings will conclude their four-game home stand tonight with a game against the Missouri River Otters. The K-Wings are 2-1-1 against the River Otters this season. In the previous games between the teams, home-ice has meant a lot, as the home team has won every game.

Kalamazoo will be looking to rebound from a loss last night against the Elmira Jackals. The K-Wings loss, coupled with a Muskegon victory, puts Kalamazoo in second place in the Central Division. Entering tonight, the K-Wings are 9-6-3 against the Western Division.

Like Kalamazoo, Missouri will be looking to rebound after suffering a loss last night to the Fort Wayne Komets. The River Otters have played their best hockey of the year against the Central Division. Entering tonight, Missouri is 13-12-2 against the K-Wings division.

Jammed Pack

Wings Stadium was filled to rafters last night, as a crowd of 5,413 came to see the K-Wings play during the 25th Annual World Famous St. Patrick's Day "Green Ice" Game Presented by Fifth Third Bank, WRKR and WOTV. The sellout was the first sellout this season for the K-Wings and their fourth since joining the UHL.

Big Willie Style

Forward Tyler Willis is currently on a five-game assist streak. The five-game streak is the longest assist streak in the United Hockey League.

Lighting the Lamp

Kalamazoo's Damian Surma has scored a goal in each of his last three games. The three-game goal streak is the longest goal streak by a K-Wings player and it is also tied for second as the longest streak in the UHL.

Church Service

Forward Brad Church has been in a giving mood while playing at Wings Stadium. Church enters tonight's game on a eight-game home assist and point streak. The eight-game streak is the second longest home streak by a K-Wings player, only Greg Labenski, who has registered a point in each of his last 13 home games, has a longer home point streak.
