LAST NIGHT: The Indians saw three different leads vanish but still managed to prevail in 10 innings on Saturday night, 7-6. The decisive run in the 10th came on a Will Craig fly ball to shallow left that Alejandro De Aza failed to haul in, but he did record the forceout at third base to leave Craig with a run-scoring fielder's choice. Geoff Hartlieb (W, 3-0), who gave up the game-tying run in the ninth, pitched the 10th and retired the side to strand the automatic runner at second. The Indians led 1-0 after the first thanks to a Cole Tucker single, stolen base, wild pitch by Kohl Stewart and RBI groundout by Erik Gonzalez. Kevin Kramer doubled the lead with his second long ball of the road trip in the fourth. Rochester drew even at 2-2 in the home half before Tucker and Gonzalez smacked RBI singles in the fifth to make it a 4-2 game. The Red Wings plated three runs off Mitch Keller in the fifth to take a brief lead, but Indy plated two in the sixth thanks to a pair of wild pitches uncorked by Fernando Romero.

PUT 'EM ON, GET 'EM IN: The Indians played their 10th extra-inning game of the season last night, improving to 4-6 overall. The Tribe have batted in 12 total half innings in extras this year and have scored the automatic runner seven times (58.3 percent success rate). On the road, they have scored in five of seven extra innings played (71.4 percent) but are just two for five at home (40 percent). Since the automatic runner rule for extra innings was implemented in 2018, the Indians have scored in 12 of 24 (50 percent) half innings played.

SCORELESS STREAK SNAPPED: RHP Geoff Hartlieb had his scoreless streak snapped at six games (10.1ip) last night after allowing the game-tying run in the ninth, falling five outs shy of matching the longest scoreless streak by a Tribe hurler this year (12.0ip by James Marvel and Tyler Lyons). Hartlieb managed to keep the game tied and forced extra innings by leaving the potential winning run at third base, despite the runner being there with no outs. Then in the 10th, Hartlieb mastered the Red Wings with three quick outs to seal the win. He struck out a career high-tying five batters in two innings of work (also: 5 K's in 2.0ip on June 23, 2018 with Double-A Altoona at Erie).

PAPA LYONS: LHP Tyler Lyons was placed on the paternity list on July 22 as he and his wife, Jennifer, welcomed a second daughter to their family, Scottie Gray. Lyons was officially reinstated from the paternity list prior to last night's contest and retired all four batters he faced in relief of Mitch Keller. Since the All-Star break, the southpaw has made four appearances and has given up just one unearned run on two hits with 10 strikeouts in 6.1 innings pitched.

HUNTER HEAT: Hunter Owen enters today's contest riding a six-game hitting streak, his longest in Triple-A and the longest active streak for the Indians. During the stretch, the 25-year-old has hit .364 (8-for-22) with two homers, four RBI and four runs scored.

BRANDON'S BACK: Today's starting pitcher, left-hander Brandon Waddell, makes his return to the Tribe rotation after opening the season in Indy's bullpen. In 21 relief appearances, the former Virginia Cavalier went 1-2 with an 8.70 ERA (29er/30.0), 2.10 WHIP and 37 strikeouts against 25 walks. He was demoted to Double-A Altoona in June and transitioned back to being a starter. The move paid dividends for the Houston, Texas native; he went 3-1 with a 2.23 ERA (9er/36.1ip), 1.05 WHIP and 42 strikeouts against nine walks. In 2018, Waddell went 5-8 with a 4.19 ERA (38er/81.2ip) in 19 games (15 starts) for the Tribe. He had a 4.08 ERA as a starter and 5.40 ERA as a reliever.

BY THE NUMBERS - 21: The Indians have 21 wins by one run this season, most in the IL. Their 36 games decided by one run trail only Louisville (37, 13-24) for most in the league. The Indians have tied for the league lead in one-run wins two times since 2005 (26 in 2008; 28 in 2011) but have never led the league outright.
