SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Toledo Mud Hens blanked the Syracuse Mets 4-0 in a dominant victory on Sunday afternoon at NBT Bank Stadium.
Mud Hens (47-59) starter RHP Tim Adleman delivered seven innings to earn his fourth win of the season in shutout fashion over the Mets (53-53).
Daz Cameron earned a walk to start off the game and scored from first on a double to left center field by Jake Rogers as Toledo took a lead into the bottom half of the opening frame.
The Mud Hens found some additional offense in the fifth inning as Dawel Lugo beat out an infield single and moved to second on an errant pick-off throw to first during the at bat of Jacob Robson. Lugo then advanced to third on a wild pitch. Cameron was hit by a pitch to give Toledo runners on the corners before each runner advanced a bag on a wild pitch. Rogers then drew a walk to give the Mud Hens runners on first and second with a two-run lead. Dustin Peterson lined out to right field to end the top of the fifth inning.
Toledo doubled its lead in the seventh inning as Pete Kozma launch a two-run bomb to put the Hens up 4-0 going into stretch time.
Adleman exited after seven dominant shutout innings allowing two hits and two walks while fanning a season high 11. RHP Eduardo Jimenez took over and sent the side down in order. Jimenez held off the Mets in the ninth as well as Toledo claimed the 4-0 win.
