LAST NIGHT: The Indians dropped both ends of Saturday's doubleheader by 3-2 and 8-2 final scores to Toledo, moving the Tribe to a half game back of Columbus for first place in the IL West. Eduardo Vera threw 7.0 innings of two-run ball in the first contest but wasn't rewarded a win as Indy's offense could only muster five hits while going 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position. Daniel Pinero gave the Hens the 3-2 walk-off win with a single to open the bottom of the eighth against Sean Keselica. In the nightcap, Victor Reyes and Dustin Peterson cranked long solo homers off Yefry Ramirez in the second inning and Toledo never looked back in an 8-2 triumph. Pablo Reyes had three of Indy's six doubles in the two games combined.

ROAD SERIES LOSS: the Tribe's road series winning streak was snapped at four with last night's doubleheader sweep, guaranteeing the Mud Hens the series victory with one game to play this evening. Indy's four straight road series victories came at Lehigh Valley, Louisville, Columbus and again at Louisville, marking the first time a Tribe team had won four consecutive road series since the 2015 campaign.

THREE-GAME SLIDE: The Indians carry a three-game losing streak into today's matchup, their first skid of three games or more since May 4-8 when they dropped four straight, two vs. Louisville and two at Scranton/WB. It is the fourth losing streak of three-plus games for Indy this season.

TROUBLE VS. TOLEDO: All three losses have come in the last two days to Toledo, the first losing streak of three games to the Mud Hens since Sept. 4, 2017 to April 10, 2018. The Tribe lost the 2017 regular-season finale at Toledo and lost the first two matchups to the Mud Hens in 2018. Indy hasn't lost four straight games to Toledo since April 12-17, 2010; the Tribe were swept in a two-game series in Toledo on April 12-13 and lost the first two games of a four-game set at Victory Field on April 16-17.

DOUBLEHEADER DUMP: The Indians went 2-1-2 in doubleheaders in 2018 but were swept in their first 2019 twin bill. Indy's only 2018 twin bill sweep came at the hands of Syracuse on April 18, when the Tribe were no-hit in a 5-0 game one loss, followed by a 7-0 shutout loss in the nightcap.

NINE STRAIGHT: Following last night's 3-2 loss in eight innings in the doubleheader opener, Indy had played nine consecutive games where the final margin was three runs or less. Over 73 percent (44-of-60, 73.3%) of Indy's games have been decided by three runs or less this year, and the Tribe are 25-19 in those games, including a 13-9 mark in one-run contests. Last year, exactly 60 percent (84-of-140) of Indy's games were within three runs. The Tribe went 41-43 in those contests and struggled in one-run games (14-24).

CRAIG NO LONGER STREAKING: Will Craig extended his hitting streak to 14 games and on-base streak to 22 games with a single in game one last night, but he went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in game two to snap both streaks. Craig's 14-game streak is tied for the fourth longest in the International League this season and fell three games short of matching his career high of 17 set from July 22-Aug. 9, 2016 with Short-Season A West Virginia.

HOT HANDS: Despite the Indians average under four runs per game on the current road trip (26 runs in 7 games, 3.7 RPG), three Tribe players have found success at the plate. Pablo Reyes collected three doubles in yesterday's doubleheader, has hit safely in five straight and is batting .381 (8-for-21) with one homer, four doubles and four RBI on the road trip. JB Shuck is hitting .353 (6-for-17) with one homer and four RBI on the trip, with the long ball and four ribbies coming in the road trip opener at Louisville. Jake Elmore is also hitting well on the trip, batting .333 (6-for-18) with two doubles and four RBI.
