Today's Game

This afternoon, the Bisons take on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in the final game of a three-game series. Following Sunday's matchup, the Herd has an off-day before heading west to face the Indianapolis Indians and Louisville Bats starting on Tuesday.

Yesterday's Game: BUF 9, LHV 2

Buffalo's offense was no where near the dark side Saturday evening during the annual Star Wars Night. The Herd plated three runs in the first, second and eighth innings en route to their victory. Socrates Brito and Patrick Kivlehan combined to drive in five runs, while Andrew Sopko earned his first career Triple-A win.

Lehigh Valley (6-6)

Buffalo and the IronPigs are meeting for the fourth time this year, this is the second time the Bisons are hosting. They split the last series in Lehigh Valley near the end of May. Each team will host a series against each other at their respective fields once more this season. The Herd has already eclipsed last year's win total against

their IL North foes with a win in the series opener on Friday.

Today's Starter

David Phelps will "open" today's game as he rehabs from Tommy John Surgery. The righty, who signed with Toronto on January 1/12 as a Free Agent, tossed a scoreless inning with Dunedin (A-Adv) on the 5th - his first appearance on a mound since 8/30/17 when he was with the Seattle Mariners. LHP Ryan Feierabend will take over after Phelps on his normal turn in the Herd's roation.

Patrick Kivlehan

Patrick Kivlehan continues to not only collect base hits, but drive in runs. The utility man drove in three more runners Saturday evening, bringing his total to 12 in 14 games with the Bisons. Kivlehan has batted .289 (13-45) with a .333OBP in that span as well.

Anthony Alford

After hitting just .132 in 20 games in April, Anthony Alford hit .276 in 25 May games and is hitting .444 in six games this month. The outfielder added to this with a 2-3 performance on Saturday. Alford ended up on-base twice more via the walk and drove in a runner.

Andrew Sopko

Andrew Sopko tossed five innings, earning his first career Triple-A win. The righty, who was acquired from the Dodgers in the offseason, has gone at least five innings in four of his six starts with the Bisons. Sopko yielded just on run on five hits and two walks while fanning four IronPig batters in the victory.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (23-41) managed just five base hits in their 6-0 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks Saturday afternoon. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. collected two singles in the loss. LHP Clayton Richard looks to avoid the sweep as he squares off against fellow southpaw Robby Ray at 1:07 p.m. at the Rogers Centre.
