INDIANAPOLIS - Embarking on their final 17-games of the 2016-17 ECHL regular season, the Indy Fuel earned one-point in the Western Conference Central Division standings in a 3-2 overtime triumph gained by the Kelly Cup Finalists of last season, the Wheeling Nailers.

Cody Wydo's team-high 24th goal of the season at 2:52 of the extra session earned the bonus point for the visitors after former Fuel right wing Tyler Currier had knotted the contest at 2-2 at the 13:57 mark of the middle period.

The Fuel did tie the game at 1-1 when former Wheeling left wing Josh Shalla notched his 25th goal of the campaign at 15:09 of the opening stanza, 3:02 after the Nailers had carved out a 1-0 advantage. Shalla was acquired by Indy in the deal that sent Currier from Indy to Wheeling.

Indy's lone lead of the game came at the 3:27 mark of the second period when Alex Wideman stashed his 18th goal from a shot fired by defenseman Adam Phillips who has assisted on the Fuel's last 3-goals, spanning the last 2-games.

Eric Levine was stellar in goal for the Fuel, rebuffing 40 of 43-shots while his counterpart, Doug Carr brushed aside 21 Fuel attempts in posting the victory in the Nailers goal.

The Fuel power play was 0-2; the Nailers 0-3.

Indy is now 4(0-3-1) in its last 4-starts and 14(1-11-2) over its last 14-outings. On home ice, the Fuel have not attained a victory since January 27th; a stretch of 6-consecutive games; 6(0-5-1). They are 9(1-7-1) against the North Division.
