Adirondack Frostbite News Release

GLENS FALLS, NY -- The Adirondack Frostbite saw their winless streak extended to three games (0-2-1), and are now winless in five games this season against Danbury (0-4-1) after suffering a 3-2 shootout loss on Saturday night at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

Danbury scored the only goal of the opening period as Drew Omicioli took a centering feed from his brother Mike, and beat Derek Gustafson with a slap shot low to the glove side for his 11th goal of the season.

The Frostbite tied the game 9:48 into the second period. Hugo Belanger sprung Kevin Watters skating in behind the Trashers' defense, and he was able to beat Sylvain Daigle for his team-leading 15th goal of the season.

Belanger gave the Frostbite the lead just over two minutes later with a power play goal. Mark Hurtubise won a face-off back to Belanger at the right point, and he blasted a slap shot past Daigle for his 11th.

The Trashers tied the game 5:50 into the final period. Jean Michel Daoust gathered in a bouncing puck at the top of the crease, and dribbled a shot through Gustafson's five-hole for his third goal of the season.

After Watters scored in the first round of the shootout for the Frostbite, Daigle turned aside each of the next five shooters, while Frederic Belanger and Shawn Collymore scored for the Trashers to give them the six-round shootout victory. The win for Daigle was his 156th career UHL win, setting a new league mark.

Adirondack is back in action on Friday at Fort Wayne in an 8:00 p.m. face-off. Catch all of the action on WCKM 98.5 FM starting with the pre-game show at 7:40 p.m.
