Adirondack Frostbite News Release

GLENS FALLS, NY - The Adirondack Frostbite, proud members of the United Hockey League, announced today that they completed a trade with the Rockford IceHogs prior to the league's 3:00 p.m. ET trading deadline. Adirondack acquired defenseman Joe Markusen from the IceHogs in exchange for defenseman Josh Mizerek.

Markusen appeared in 16 games with Rockford this season, tallying two goals and adding four assists. Markusen scored a goal in the IceHogs 4-2 win over the Frostbite on March 10. The second-year pro split last season with three ECHL teams (Long Beach, Reading, and Augusta) after completing a four-year collegiate career at Michigan State University. He will join the Frostbite in Motor City in time for Friday's game against the Mechanics.

Mizerek played in 55 games with the Frostbite, scoring two goals and adding four assists.

Adirondack concludes its four-game home stand tomorrow, hosting the Roanoke Valley Vipers at 7:05 p.m. The game will be played on green ice, and the Frostbite will wear special green jerseys, which will be auctioned off following the game with proceeds to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities. Also, it's a Wacky Wednesday, with 14-ounce drafts of Bud, Bud Light, and Coors Light just $2 all night long, and it's another Family Four Pack Night, with four tickets four slices of pizza, and four sodas just $50. Tickets are available at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office, or by calling (518) 798-0202.
