
Mallards Add Littlejohn and Kotary at Trading Deadline

Moline, IL- Quad City Mallards Head Coach and General Manager Brian Curran announced today that the team has acquired forward Frank Littlejohn and defenseman Sean Kotary in a series of deals at the United Hockey League's trading deadline. Defenseman Andrei Lupandin and forward Mike Olynyk were traded in exchange for the new acquisitions.
Lupandin was traded to Motor City in exchange for forward Scott Dobben. Dobben was then swapped to Missouri with Olynyk in exchange for Frank Littlejohn. Littlejohn is a rugged scoring forward that led the Otters in goals at the time of the trade. On the season, the Oshawa, Ontario native has 22 goals with 13 assists for 35 points with 135 penalty minutes. During a seven-year pro career, Littlejohn has appeared in 475 pro games and has 184 goals with 145 assists for 329 points. He also has 1,408 penalty minutes.
The Mallards added Kotary in a trade with the Elmira Jackals for financial considerations. Kotary began his pro career earlier this season with the Port Huron Flags. He also played 10 games in Elmira before joining the Mallards. The New Hartford, New York native has played 58 games as a rookie and has 19 points on a goal and 18 assists.
Lupandin leaves the Mallards as the team's leading scorer amongst defenseman. The Kharkov, Ukraine native played 57 games with the Mallards and scored five goals with 23 assists for 28 points. Olynyk goes to Missouri after playing 25 games with the Mallards. The forward scored one goal with two assists for three points and 82 penalty minutes during his time as a Mallard.
On Friday, the Mallards return to the ice in Port Huron to take on the Flags. Game time is 6:30 p.m. central time. The Maroon Mortgage Pre-Game Show airs on Fox Sports Radio AM 1230 at 6:05 p.m. on Friday. During the intermissions, the Swiss Valley Farms Intermission Report is on the air. The Mallards return home on Sunday for a showdown with the two-time defending Colonial Cup Champion Muskegon Fury. Game time is 1:00 p.m. It will be a historic afternoon as colon cancer survivor Molly McMaster will become the first woman in Mallards history to skate a shift with the team. McMaster is playing a game with each UHL team to promote colon cancer awareness.
