
Frogs Fall in Shutout Loss, 3-0ÃâÃÂ

EVERETT, Wash. -- The Everett AquaSox (14-8) were unable to produce at the plate, falling to the Vancouver Canadians (14-8), 3-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Canadians scored their first run in the bottom of the first when RHP Michael Limoncelli balked with a runner on third. Later that inning, DJ Neal hit an RBI single to shortstop, driving in Spencer Horwitz and extending Vancouver's lead to 2-0.
Ryan Gold hit a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth, scoring the third and final run of the game. Canadian pitching proved to be dominant, facing no more than five AquaSox batters in an inning and striking out 12 total.
WRAPPING IT UP
At the plate, the AquaSox registered four hits, highlighted by doubles from Jack Larsen and Patrick Frick; Zach DeLoach and Cody Grosse each singled once. On the mound, RHP Stephen Kolek pitched the majority of the game, striking out four and allowing one earned run. RHP Fred Villarreal pitched the final 2.2 innings, striking out four while giving up no hits, walks or runs.
LOOKING AHEAD
The AquaSox will continue their six-game series in Hillsboro against the Vancouver Canadians at their "home" field on Saturday, May 29 at 7:05 p.m. Tune in with Steve Willits here! The Frogs return to Funko Field on Tuesday, June 1 to take on the Hillsboro Hops. The following week, they will remain in Everett for a six-game series against the Eugene Emeralds.
