
'Frogs Commit Six Errors in 10-1 Loss

Battle Creek, MI - August 10th, 2011 - Green Bay committed a season-high six errors on Wednesday night in Battle Creek. The 'Frogs allowed nine unearned runs in the 10-1 loss to the Bombers that snaps Green Bay's six game winning streak. Despite the loss the Bullfrogs magic number to clinch a playoff berth has been reduced to two with four games left to play after La Crosse lost 6-4.
The Bombers scored a pair of runs in the first inning of off Bullfrogs' starter Drew Bradshaw. After an infield single and a throwing error by Bradshaw, Paul Hoenecke made an error the very next play to put two on with only one out. With the inning extended after the error, the Bombers used a sacrifice fly and a two-out RBI single to take an early 2-0 lead.
The big blow came in the third inning as Green Bay committed a season-high three errors in the inning to allow six unearned runs to cross the plate. After a lead off triple and a strike out, Hoenecke and Andy Hunter each made an error to help the first run of the frame come across. Four more hits after that knocked Drew Bardshaw out of the game. He threw 2.1 innings allowed seven hits and eight runs, none of which were earned.
Green Bay's only tally came in on an RBI single from Joe Betcher in the second inning. The Bullfrogs had chances early in the ball game. They loaded the bases in the first, second and fourth innings but scored just the lone run in the second. Green Bay will be in action again on Thursday at 6:05 pm CST. If the 'Frogs win and the Loggers lose then Green Bay will clinch a playoff spot for the first time since 2007.
