ROCHESTER - Matt Hillsinger, Casey Roche and Jon Crist all went deep for the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers in an 8-1 win over the Rochester Honkers Wednesday night at Mayo Field.
Roche's home run capped off a great night for the Lunker right fielder, going 4 for 5 with three RBIs. Hillsinger and Crist each hit their first home run of the season.
James Farris was very strong on the mound for the Lunkers this evening, going seven innings en route to his second win of the season. Farris gave up only one run and carried a perfect game into the 5th inning.
The only Honker run came on a Reid Roper double in the Bottom of the 5th that brought home Davy Wright.
The loss for Rochester goes to Cody Peterson, who falls to (0-2). Peterson left the game in the fifth inning with a right arm injury. He gave up four runs on 11 hits.
With the win, the Lunkers improve to (14-21) on the second half with the Honkers falling to (14-20).
The Lunkers and Honkers are back in action Thursday night at 7:05. Charlie Henderson will make his final start for the Lunkers.
