St. Cloud River Bats News Release
(St. Cloud, MN) The Bats and Moon dogs matched each other for 11 innings of baseball. Bryan Haar ended that with one swing of the bat.
Haar blasted his ninth home run of the season in the 12th inning. The walk off bomb clanked off the light pole over the fence in left field.
Two runs scored on the long ball to give the Bats a 5-3 win. With his ninth homer of the season, Haar ranks among the Bats all time single season leaders in round trippers
A triple off the bat of Derek Campbell helped the Bats claim the lead in the first. Campbell scored on a pass ball to make it 1-0.
Mankato added runs in the second and fourth to take the lead. A wild pitch allowed Jeremy Banks to score in the seventh and tie the game for the Bats.
More pitches missed from Mankato. An eighth inning wild pitch permitted Andy Henkemeyer to touch home and give the Bats the lead.
However, the Bats ninth inning woes continued. Mike Rivera plated James Roberts to knot the game at three in the ninth.
The game remained tied until the 12th inning. Campbell began the frame with a bunt single.
Two batters later Bryan Haar crushed his bomb. The Bats walked off with a 5-3 win.
Andy Fagley picks up his first win with the Bats. After surrendering the long ball, Logan Willard suffers the loss. Matt Iannazzo looks for his fifth win of the season on Thursday night, when these two teams meet again.
Thursday marks team poster night at Joe Faber Field. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a team poster.
