Frisco RoughRiders News Release

The RoughRiders were held scoreless Monday night, falling to Corpus Christi 10-0 and dropping the series. Frisco has now been shut out in back-to-back games for the first time since June 5-6 of 2008 and haven't scored a run in the past 18 innings. The Hooks scored in six different innings as they chipped away at Frisco starter Kasey Kiker (1-2). The RoughRiders managed double-digit hits, but they were all singles.

Corpus got on the board in the first frame thanks to an RBI-ground out by Mark Ori. The Hooks made it 2-0 in the second inning on a sacrifice fly and plated another run in the sixth on an RBI single by Josh Flores. The Hooks would score seven more in the final three innings to push their lead to 10-0 as Corpus did extensive damage to Frisco's bullpen.

Kiker allowed two runs on five hits over five innings, striking out six and walking three. Sergio Perez (3-1) earned the victory for Corpus, shutting out the 'Riders for six innings and striking out six. Frisco's bullpen gave up eight runs over four innings, walking five total batters.

Manny Pina extended his hitting streak to 15 consecutive games and reached base streak to 25 contests with a 3-for-4 night to extend his Texas League-best batting average to .475. Chad Tracy added a pair of singles as Frisco failed to record an extra-base hit in the contest.

With the loss, the RoughRiders are now tied with Corpus Christi for second place in the South Division with an 11-12 record, 4.5 games behind division-leading Midland.

The RoughRiders now welcome the San Antonio Missions to Frisco for a four-game series beginning Tuesday night at 7 p.m., matching up RHP Michael Schlact (0-0, 6.00) and RHP Ernesto Frieri (1-1, 3.32).
