Frisco Falls in Series Finale to Arkansas

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas - The Frisco RoughRiders lost control of the series finale early in a 9-4 defeat at the hands of the Arkansas Travelers from Dickey-Stephens Park.

The Riders (9-6) fell behind early when Josh Stephan (0-1) allowed the first three runs of the game in the second inning. Arkansas (9-6) plated their three runs on an RBI single by Kaden Polcovich, a Cole Young bases-loaded walk and a Spencer Packard sacrifice fly.

After another bases-loaded walk from Polcovich in the third to make it 4-0, the Riders found the scoreboard on a Josh Hatcher RBI single, scoring Maximo Acosta.

The Travelers then put up three more runs in the fourth, another tally in the fifth and one more in the seventh to push their lead to 9-1 on the Frisco bullpen.

Frisco added a pair more runs in the eighth on a Liam Hicks sacrifice fly and an Acosta RBI single before a fielder's choice by Kellen Strahm drove in their fourth run of the day.

Raul Alcantara (2-0) earned the win for the Travelers, throwing four innings out of the bullpen.

Next, the RoughRiders are back home for a six-game set with the Amarillo Sod Poodles (Arizona Diamondbacks) at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23rd.
