Chattanooga Lookouts News Release
Montañas outfielder T.J. Friedl had a big day at the plate, driving in four runs in the Montañas de Chattanooga's 6-4 win over the Shuckers on Hispanic Heritage Day at AT&T Field. The Montañas have now won five games in a row and have scored six or more runs in every game this series.
Friedl ignited the team's red hot offense in the third inning when he belted a two-run shot to give the home squad the 2-0 lead. Biloxi added one in the fourth, but Chattanooga's offense continued to roll in the bottom of the fourth. Stephenson led off the inning with a double and moved to third on a Brantley Bell fly out. After Gavin LaValley was hit by a pitch, Alfredo Rodriguez knocked home Stephenson for the team's third run of the day. With two runners on Friedl struck again, this time by smacking a two run double. The outfielder left the game after the play with an injury and was replaced by Taylor Trammell.
After Biloxi added a run in the fifth, Stephenson knocked in his first run of the day for their sixth run. Biloxi scored three runs and climbed their way back into the game, but Joel Kuhnel clamped down and earned his third save of the year.
Tomorrow, the Montañas de Chattanooga will try and go for their first sweep of the season when they play an 11:15 a.m. day game against the Shuckers. Gates for the early morning game open at 10:00 a.m.
