Joliet Slammers News Release
Joliet, IL- Slammers' starter Andrew Strenge found a way to go seven scoreless innings only to receive a no-decision in the Slammers (28-43) extra inning loss to the Freedom (34-37) on Saturday.
Freedom starter Zach Wendorf tossed five superb innings but saw himself trailing after four. In that fourth inning CF Phil Bates hit a ball to right field that was dropped by Andrew Godbold toward the line. In that same play Godbold's throw to the infield got away and allowed Bates to motor around the diamond. Two errors by the right fielder and a 1-0 lead after four.

RF Nate Roberts added a single to put two on. SS Alfredo Rodriguez walked to load the bases with no outs. DH Joe Staley plated his second RBI with a sacrifice fly scoring Bates pushing the lead to 2-0.

SS Zac Mitchell cut the lead in half with a single up the middle that scored Salazar. 1B Sam Eberle would tie the game with a single to right that allowed Fraga to score.
