Florence Y'alls
Richmond, Indiana: Florence was looking to make a comeback from a disappointing series with Ohio Valley, and they did just that, beating the Richmond Roosters, 7-2.
Richmond starter Matt Schweitzer got roughed up, but not before he could strikout six, setting the Frontier League record for carrer strikouts, with 391. Scott Pickens was the lucky batter who will go down in Frontier League history. Florence got the scoring started in the second, with an RBI double by Matt Singer, putting the Freedom out to a 1-0 lead. In the fourth, Trevor Hall added a solo homerun. Florence blew the game open in the sixth, scoring four runs, three on a bases clearing double by Matt Singer, after six, Florence lead 6-0. Florence starter Joel Posey pitched a complete game, only giving up two earned runs. Posey improves his record to 5-0, while his counterpart, Matt Schweitzer falls to 3-5.
Florence plays two more at Richmond, with games on Friday and Saturday.
