Florence Y'alls
Florence, Kentucky: 2,955 fans came through the gates at Champion Window Field in Florence Kentucky, now three consecutive 2,000+ nights at Champion Window Field. Florence failed to overcome the Grizzlies on Beach Towel night, losing 2-1.
Not much offense for either team, a run wasn't scored until the seventh inning, when Mike Galloway scored on a wild pitch. In the Eighth, Gateway's Freddy Lopez scored on a wild pitch, tying it up, 1-1. Later in the eighth, Shawn Smarsh scored on a RBI single by Mike Breyman. Florence failed to score in the ninth, and the Grizzlies walked away with a win. Mike Dennison again is a victim of poor run support, he went seven and two/thirds innings, giving up two runs on four hits, striking out six. Ted Rowe came on to pitch one and one/third inning of scoreless relief.
Florence continues the Gateway series with game number two, tonight at 6:05.
