Kalamazoo, Michigan: Florence went into last night's game looking for anyway to snap out of their offensive slump, and Jamie Keefe and company did just that, defeating the Kalamazoo Kings, 8-5.

The Freedom bats finally woke up and got out of the freezer and into the August sun last night, scoring eight runs in their win at Kalamazoo. Top one, the lead off batter Scott Pickens drew a walk, and then Wally Quigg had an infield single to advance Pickens to third. Mike Galloway came up with runners on the corners and no one out, he grounded into a fielders choice as Wally Quigg was retired, but Scott Pickens scored, and Mike Galloway beat out the throw. After one, it was 1-0 in favor of the Freedom. Top two, Scotty Martin barely gets the ball over the 309 foot fence for his eighth homerun of the year, a two run shot. After the Kings scored two runs in the bottom of the second, the Freedom blew the game open in the third, with a Scott Pickens walk, Wally Quigg reached, and then Mike Galloway sends a present to the International space station, his 23rd homerun of the season, a space shot. Next up, Trevor Hall played a little "anything you can do I can do better," as he smacked his 16th homerun of the season, and after three, the Freedom lead 7-2. Mike Dennison (7-6) pitched another solid game for the Freedom, he picked up the win in seven innings, only giving up three runs.

The Freedom look for a road series victory tonight against the Kings, first pitch at 6:35. Then on Saturday night, the Freedom return home for a three game set with Rockford, and for Liberty the Freedom Eagle bobblehead night on Saturday night, first pitch at 7:05.
