
Grizzlies sweep Ohio Valley for fourth straight win

The Ohio Valley Redcoats scored two runs on three hits in the top of the first inning, then didn't get a hit the rest of the night. Newcomer Alex Justus (1-0) tossed seven innings for a win in his professional debut as the Grizzlies defeated Ohio Valley 5-2 Friday night.
The Grizzlies are now 31-34. Ohio Valley is 29-36.
The win gave the Grizzlies the sweep of the series, their first sweep of the year. It is their fourth win in a row. They are now trail first place Kalamazoo by just five games. They are four games out of second for the final playoff spot.
Justus struck out four in the win. He walked just one and retired the last 10 hitters he faced.
Ben Margalski and Brandon Averill each had a pair of RBIs. Averill was 2-4. He crushed a two-run home run to straight away center in the fourth. Margalski was 2-4 as well. Ryan Sullivan was 2-4 with an inside-the-park home run, his third in the past two nights.
The Grizzlies welcome in the Evansville Otters for a three-game series beginning Saturday night at GMC Stadium. It is the Otters first visit to GMC Stadium since the 2003 Championship Series. Game time Saturday is 7:05 p.m.
