Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
Frankie Frankfurter, the famed hot dog who regularly races around Miller Park in Milwaukee, will be at John O'Donnell Stadium tonight, the Swing of the Quad Cities announced Wednesday. Frankie is looking forward to putting his wheels to the test around the JOD warning track, as he continues to train in exciting new venues.
The self-proclaimed "fastest frankfurter east of the Mississippi" has now set his sights on broadening that moniker, as he continues to seek new twists for his strict training regimen. Frankie Frankfurter is determined to become the premier food product racer in the country, and in his quest has stepped out west of the Mississippi River for the first time.
"I have heard great things about John O'Donnell Stadium," Frankie gushed. "I am very excited about having the opportunity to train there. Racing in Miller Park all the time just gets boring, and I need to get an edge over that Bratwurst."
Swing President/General Manager Kevin Krause has welcomed the hot dog with open arms. "We have had a lot of tremendous guests here, but I can't remember any with the athletic prowess quite like Frankie," Krause commented with zeal. "I certainly have never seen a frankfurter run like that. He zips around with almost as much mustard as a Mark McCormick fastball!"
Frankie is in town visiting Klements Sausages, the official sausage of the Swing of the Quad Cities.
UP NEXT: The Swing will continue their series with the Beloit Snappers Thursday night, sending RHP Mark McCormick (1-1, 4.61) to the mound against RHP Kyle Waldrop (1-2, 4.91). First pitch is scheduled for 6:30, and pre-game coverage on WKBF AM-1270 will begin at 6:15.
UPCOMING PROMOTIONS: The Swing of the Quad Cities will close out the month of April with some great promotions. Thursday, April 27 will be a 97 Rock/Pluckers Thirsty Thursday. The first 500 fans through the gates on April 28 will be able to take advantage of a poster giveaway courtesy of Miller Lite, and April 29 will feature the first fireworks night of the year, sponsored by i-wireless, WOC, WFXN, and KWQC. The month ends with a Mix 96 Family Fun Day on April 30, complete with clowns, face-painting, and the opportunity for kids to run the bases after the game.
