April 26, 2006 - Midwest League (MWL1) News Release
Washington, D.C. (April 26, 2006) - D.C. United defender Facundo Erpen won the Sierra Mist Goal of the Week award for Week 4 with a 35-yard blast in United's 4-1 victory over the New York Red Bulls last Saturday. It was Erpen's second of the season, both coming against the team's Atlantic Cup rivals.
Following his late-season signing last year, Erpen quickly worked his way into the Black-and-Red lineup. Seeing time at both right and center back, the Argentina native made appearances in eight games (eight starts). He scored his first career MLS goal in United's 2-1 win over FC Dallas on 9/10.
