Four-Run Frame Fuels Curve Victory

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Jackson Glenn crushed a three-run home run for Altoona as part of a four-run sixth inning that fueled a come-from-behind victory for the Curve over the Senators, 5-3, on Thursday night at FNB Field.

It was Glenn's second home run in 14 games since his call up from High-A Greensboro. Chavez Young opened the frame with a single off the starter Alex Troop and stole second base before Tsung-Che Cheng doubled to left-center field to tie the game 2-2. Mason Martin then drew a walk to set up the game-deciding blast for Glenn, a three-run shot to left field off Troop.

Harrisburg scored two runs in the first inning off Curve starter Anthony Solometo. With the bases loaded and two outs, Terone Harris III singled to right field to score Robert Hassell III and Trey Lipscomb to put Altoona in an early hole. Solometo would settle in to toss five innings, allowing just the two runs in the first on five hits, one walk, and five strikeouts to earn his second win in Double-A.

Altoona scored its first run in the top of the second inning on a Matt Fraizer RBI-groundout to second, scoring Glenn who was hit by a pitch and advanced to third on a Connor Scott double. Mike Jarvis extended his hitting streak to four games with his third consecutive multi-hit game in the series, finishing 3-for-4 with three singles and two stolen bases. In three games this week, Jarvis has recorded eight hits.

Tahnaj Thomas tossed a scoreless sixth inning on seven pitches before Justin Meis entered to throw the final three innings of the contest and earn his first professional save. Meis allowed just one run on two hits, including a home run by Hassell to open the eighth inning. He struck out three batters and walked two.

Dylan Shockley threw out two baserunners stealing in the win for Altoona. It was the third time this season that Shockley has recorded multiple outs on runners caught stealing. He is now 16-for-40 on the season behind the dish. The Curve turned two double plays in the win, increasing their league-leading mark to 85 on the campaign.

Altoona continues its six-game series on the road with the Harrisburg Senators, Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. RHP Sean Sullivan takes the ball for the Curve against LHP Mitchell Parker for Harrisburg.
