Four Run 12th Inning Lifts London

CRESTWOOD, ILLINOIS - A two-out throwing error by Windy City (27-20) third baseman, Travis Weaver allowed Stephen Cardullo to score and broke a 1-1 tie in the 12th as the Rippers (20-29) escape with a 5-1 win.

Weaver pulled second baseman, Mike Torres off the bag attempting an inning ending force out, but instead it opened the flood gates for London to score four runs and win their first extra inning game this season.

The next pitch after the error hit catcher Jim Vahalik bringing in London's third run. Brad Agustin then singled home two more to cap the scoring.

London, who opens the second half by extending their win streak to 3 games, was led by another stellar pitching performance from Brandon Sinnery.

The righthander pitched a complete 9 innings, allowing a single run on five hits and walking only one, while striking out two.

Joash Brodin broke a scoreless tie in the 5th with a double, scoring Cardullo and hoisting the Rippers to a 1-0 lead.

Windy City tied the game at 1-1 with a sacrifice fly from Zach Aakhus in the 7th.

Rippers' lefty, Rob Cooper (1-0) earned the victory, getting two big outs in the 11th . Charles Wooten finished off the game for his 1st save.

Despite the win, the Rippers did strike out a league high 19 times.

London and Windy City continue their series tomorrow at 6:05pm Central. Matt Schimpf (2-4 4.73) gets the nod for the Rippers against Mike Recchia (6-2 2.79).
