London Rippers News Release

CRESTWOOD, ILLINOIS - Windy City DH, Chad Cregar blasted a grand slam and a 2- run homer hoisting the ThunderBolts to an 8-1 win over the London Rippers (20-30).

Cregar now has four home runs against London in five games, with 18 RBIs and a .522 batting average.

London's offense, meanwhile, was only able to muster 3 hits and 3 walks against Windy City starter, Mike Recchia (7-2). Their only run came in the top of the 9th with back-to-back doubles by Ben Magsig and Jim Vahalik.

The ThunderBolts (28-20) put up 5 runs in the 2nd , highlighted by Cregar's grand slam. That was the end of the night for Rippers' starter, Matt Schimpf (2-5), who threw only two innings, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits, while walking two and striking out three.

Chris Kaminski and Kevin McGovern combined to throw four scoreless innings out of the Rippers' bullpen.

Adam Arnold threw a clean 7th inning, but allowed three runs- two on Cregar's second home run of the night in the 8th, inflating the lead to 8-0. The loss snaps the Rippers' three game winning streak.

London plays their final game of the series with the ThunderBolts tomorrow at 5:05pm Central Time.
