Dunedin Blue Jays News Release

DUNEDIN-FL - The Dunedin Blue Jays will host four major promotional nights in five days beginning with back-to-back-to-back events this weekend and culminating with the team's annual free Hometown USA celebration on July 3rd.

On Friday, June 29, the Blue Jays will host Beer, Bacon, and Fireworks, an annual food and drink festival that will feature craft beer and bacon-themed foods from 17 local breweries and 10 local restaurants. Fans 21 and older can enjoy food and beer samples from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and help vote for the top bacon treat before settling into their seats and enjoying the Blue Jays game against the Bradenton Marauders and post-game fireworks show. Tickets with event access are $25. Gates open at 5:30 PM and the game will begin at 6:30 PM.

On Saturday, June 30, fans of all ages will have the opportunity to meet their favorite princesses and pirates during Princesses and Pirates Night sponsored by La Dee-Da Kids Spa. Kids are encouraged to come in costume dressed as a princess or a pirate (or both!) to compete for great prizes in a costume contest. Balloon animals, face painting, a bounce castle and bounce pirate ship, and photo booth will be available on the concourse. Kids can finish an unforgettable night at the ballpark by running the bases after the game. Gates open at 5:30 PM and the game will begin at 6:30 PM.

As an affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, the Dunedin Blue Jays are proud of their Canadian heritage and are proud to serve as host for thousands of Canadians fans that visit Dunedin each year. On Sunday, July 1st, the Blue Jays will celebrate Canada Day at Dunedin Stadium. The first 300 fans through the gates will take home an exclusive Blue Jays Hockey Puck and the game will be presented with a uniquely Canadian flair including an all-Canuck music playlist and poutine being served at the concessions. The team will take the field in all-red maple leaf hats and fans will have the opportunity to take home their favorite player's game-worn hat through an in-game charity auction. Gates open at 12:00 PM and the game will begin at 1:00 PM.

Following the big weekend of promotions, the Blue Jays will host Hometown USA on July 3rd, a completely free event that features baseball, fireworks, and a concert by local favorites Big Brother sponsored by Budweiser and presented by the City of Dunedin. During the Hometown USA festivities, the Blue Jays will also be hosting a food drive to support local families and the Dunedin Cares Food Pantry. Fans that bring 3 or more items to donate to the food pantry will receive a free ticket to a future Blue Jays game. Gates open at 5:30 PM and the game will begin at 6:30 PM with fireworks and the concert happening after the conclusion of the game.
