
Four Game Skid Snapped

Calgary Vipers News Release
The Calgary Vipers snapped a four game losing streak with a 2-1 victory over the Chico Outlaws at Nettleton Stadium in Chico, California. With the game tied at 1-1 the Vipers tallied a run in the top of the eighth inning and held on for the victory. With the win the Snakes improve to 11-6 on the second half and remain in first place in the North Division. Overall Calgary's record is 34-26 on the Golden Baseball League season.
Jordan Muir (2-0) recorded the victory with a hitless seventh inning while Claudio Galva (13) took the save with a perfect ninth frame. Reggie Rivard made the start and allowed only one run in six innings while Jorge Vasquez tossed a scoreless eighth frame.
The Snakes continue this three-game series on Saturday August 7th and Sunday August 8th at 8:05 PM MDT in Chico with the first-half champion Outlaws.
The Vipers return home to Calgary and Foothills Stadium on Tuesday August 10th at 7:05 PM MDT to host the Tucson Toros. Calgary will play a double-header on Wednesday August 11th at 5:05 PM and wrap up a five-game series with Tucson on Thursday August 12th and Friday August 13th at 7:05 PM MDT. The St. George RoadRunners will visit Calgary for a four game series on Saturday August 14th at 5:05 PM, Sunday August 15th at 12:35 PM MDT, and Monday August 16th and Tuesday August 17th at 7:05 PM MDT.
