A five-run eighth helped propel the Dayton Dragons past the Snappers Monday night, as they cruised to a 10-4 victory. Reliever Charles Nolte picked up the loss allowing five runs in the eighth (all unearned) on three hits and three Snapper errors.

Greg Yersich put Beloit ahead in the bottom of the second inning with his first home run of the season. Yersich's blast put the Snappers ahead 2-0 after two innings.

After the Dragons tied it up in the top of the fourth, the Snappers scored single runs in both the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings to jump back ahead 4-2.

Dayton struck back in the top of the seventh with two runs of their own to tie the game at 4-4. Then the flood gates opened up on Beloit.

The Dragons scored five runs, all with two outs, in the top of the eighth inning to put themselves in control.

The Snappers were never able to recover as they went on to lose to the Dragons by a final of 10-4.

Beloit's Steve Singleton extended his team-high hitting streak to ten games with a 1 for 3 night.
