
Four Bucks Selected as NWL All-Stars

Waterloo, IA - The Waterloo Bucks, members of the Northwoods League, have announced that two position players and two pitchers have been selected by the NWL to play in the annual mid-season All-Star Game. Davis Hendrickson, Cameron Perkins, Chase Stevens, and Michael Wisecarver will participate in the 2011 NWL All-Star Game that will be played Monday, July 19 at 7:05 pm in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.
Outfielder Davis Hendrickson, a sophomore from the University of Illinois, currently ranks seventh in the NWL in hitting with a .342 average and is tied for the league lead in triples with three. The Macomb, Illinois native has played in 27 games for Waterloo and owns a .436 slugging percentage.
Cameron Perkins, a sophomore from Purdue University, leads the NWL in both at bats (142) and games played (36). The third baseman is also tied for the league lead in hits with 43 and is tied for third in the NWL in total bases with 62. Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Perkins is hitting .303 on the season with 17 RBI.
Seminole State Community College product Chase Stevens will bring his team-leading 41 strikeouts to the mound for the South Division All-Stars. Originally from Blanchard, Oklahoma, the right-handed pitcher ranks second in the South Division in strikeouts and owns a 3-3 record and a 3.22 ERA. In 36.1 innings pitched, the sophomore is holding batters to a .192 average.
Left-handed pitcher Mike Wisecarver is the second Bucks starting pitcher to be named as a 2011 All-Star. The Nicholls State University product is the only South Division pitcher to throw a shutout this season. Originally from Kenner, Louisiana, Wisecarver is 3-0 with a 2.23 ERA. The junior has 31 strikeouts in 36.1 innings pitched while holding opposing batters to a .248 average.
Both the North Division and South Division NWL All-Star teams will be announced by the league later today.
The Bucks start a three-game homestand versus the Eau Claire Express tonight at renovated Riverfront Stadium. First pitch is slated for 6:35 pm with gates opening at 5:00 pm.
