Bullfrogs Place Three on All-Star Team

FrogVille, WI - The rosters for the 2011 Northwoods League All-Star game have been announced. The game will be played at the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters' Witter Field on July 18th. Green Bay placed three Bullfrogs on this year's roster. OF Billy Moon, SP Tim Giel and closer John Colella. Eau Claire and Brainerd placed the most players on the roster with seven a piece.

Moon just finished his sophomore season with Gonzaga and his batting .333 this summer for the Bullfrogs as a middle of the order hitter. He has driven in 19 runs which is second on the Bullfrogs and hit one home run. Moon's batting average is sixth in the South Division while he trails the league leader in RBI by just three in 26 games played this year.

Starter Tim Giel of Columbia University will also be at Witter Field on July 18th as he has emerged as the Bullfrogs' most consistent starting pitcher. Giel is third in the South Division with a 2.13 era in a division-leading seven starts. He has a 3-2 record in a South Division high 42.1 innings pitched. He has thrown two shutouts this season.

The Bullfrogs' closer John Colella of Holy Cross has also been named to the NWL's South Division All-Star team. Colella is second in the division with five saves this season, just one behind the leader. The sophomore has a 1-1 record with a 3.05 era. He has thrown 20.2 innings in 13 appearances.

The Bullfrogs will play seven of their final eight games on the road before the All-Star break July 17th - 19th. Green Bay will be home for one game on June 14th at 7:05pm against the Wisconsin Woodchucks.
