Four BayBears Named Post Season All-Stars

MOBILE, AL - The Southern League has announced its post-season All-Star team, and four Mobile BayBears are included:
Javier Brito - The BayBears first baseman currently leads the Southern League in hitting, with a .332 batting average. Just two days after being named the BayBears team MVP, Brito has been named the Southern League's All-Star first baseman. He was also a mid-season All-Star, playing first base for the South Division in the Southern League All-Star Game on July 9th.
Emilio Bonifacio - The league leader in hits and stolen bases, Bonifacio was named the Southern League's All-Star second baseman. Bonifacio has been the BayBears leadoff hitter for the entire season, playing both shortstop and second base. He has 152 hits and 41 stolen bases through the BayBears first 137 games.
Justin Upton - While Upton played just 70 games with the BayBears before a Major League callup, it was enough to earn him an outfield spot on the Southern League post-season All-Star team. Upton left the BayBears on August 3rd for the Arizona Diamondbacks, after batting .309 with 13 home runs and 53 RBI's.
Wilkin Castillo - Castillo was the selection for the utility player category for the Southern League All-Star team. He has played catcher, shortstop, third base, second base and right field for the BayBears this season. Castillo has hit .296 with 6 home runs and 45 RBI's for the BayBears in 106 games this year.
Former BayBear Dale Thayer was also named a Southern League All-Star, after picking up 21 saves for Montgomery before a promotion to Triple-A. The BayBears have four games remaining on their 2007 schedule, beginning Friday in Mississippi at 7:05 PM.
