Zebulon, NC. - Tennessee rallied with two outs in the top of the ninth to score the games go-ahead and eventual winning run in handing Carolina a seventh straight defeat 3-2 Friday Night at Five County Stadium. Issmael Salas was the hero for the Smokies as he doubled in Casey McGehee from second.

Chris Seddon pitched seven strong innings for Carolina yielding just two runs with four hits and five strikeouts. His one blemish came in the Tennessee fourth. Sam Fuld started the inning with a single and one out later Casey McGehee belted a two-run homerun off the bottom of the scoreboard in left.

Tennessee's Mark Holliman pitched the first six innings without yielding a run but gave up two in his final frame. Grant Psomas lead off the inning with a solo homerun and Ryan Bear followed with one that tied the score at two.

Jesse Estrada pitched a scoreless eighth to grab a win in his first Southern League appearance. Geof Jones retired the side in order for his ninth save.Tennessee remains one-half game behind Huntsville in Northern Division race with three to play but leads Chattanooga for a wildcard bid by one full game. Tomorrow night at 6.15 Donnie Veal (7-10) will start for Tennessee while Gaby Hernandez (9-10) is scheduled for the Carolina.
