Hemingway – a 6-foot, 195-pound native of Regina, Saskatchewan – appeared in three games with Worcester to open the 2004-2005 season. The 27-year-old center did not register a point in two playoff games with the Rivermen in the 2004 Northern Division Semifinals but posted a +2 plus/minus. Selected by the St. Louis Blues in eighth round (221st overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Hemingway ranked second with the Rivermen in plus/minus and seventh in points. He was named Rivermen Rookie of the Year (as voted on by the players), ranking first among team rookies in goals, assists and points. He was also named the Sher-Wood ECHL Player of the Month and the CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month for March 2004, and he was named the C&T Hockey Products ECHL Plus Performer, along with teammate Tyler Rennette, for the month of March with a +19 plus/minus.

Hemingway enjoyed a four-year NCAA Division I career at the University of New Hampshire, ranking second on the team with 47 points as a senior (2002-2003). He finished tied in the nation in power play goals (11), was named to the JOFA Hockey East All-Star Second Team and was a Second Team All-American. He was also named to the New England Hockey Writers All-Star Team and the NCAA Northeast Regional All-Tournament Team, while appearing in the NCAA National Championship game (a 5-1 loss to Minnesota).

The Peoria Rivermen are a proud affiliate of the NHL's St. Louis Blues and a member of the ECHL – The Premier "AA" Hockey League.
