Charlotte Checkers News Release

The Charlotte Checkers are teaming up with the National Basketball Association's Charlotte Bobcats for "Operation Orange" to tip off the team's inaugural season in the NBA. Friday, November 5th, will be Bobcats Night at Cricket Arena when the Checkers take on the Trenton Titans at 7:00 p.m. Each Checkers player will wear a Bobcats-themed jersey for the entirety of the game, with each player's number corresponding with a Bobcats player. The jerseys will be put up for bid during the Bobcats Jersey Auction immediately following the game. The corresponding player from both the Checkers and the Bobcats will sign their respective jersey.

"We are proud to support Charlotte's new NBA franchise," said Checkers President Jeff Longo. "This is the first in a series of ongoing cross-marketing efforts between the two teams. We are expecting a great turnout Friday night with the jersey auction following the game, and hope to raise some money for a great cause."

Proceeds from the event will be split between Charlotte Bobcats Charities and Checkmate Charities, the Official Charitable Organization of the Charlotte Checkers.
